Jains believe in the motto of "Live and Let Live"

I created this Blog to clear all misunderstanding and misconceptions that is there in our minds regarding Jainism

This is not just to promote any religen but to make people understand about jainism.

Let me frist clear this that JAINISM IS NOT A PART OF HINDUISM. This is the most common misunderstanding that people have in their mind...

Jainism is an independent relgion...the major differnece between jainism and hinduism is that hinduism professes the existence of god as the creator operator and destroyer...on the other hand JAINISM IS BASED ON ATHEISTIC PRINCIPLES...

Jainism doesn't beleive in existence of god...if u ask what are the tirthankars...welll let me tell u that tirthankars are not gods they are the people who have given us the knowledge to tread along the path on which they have made...torch bearers...the path leads to moksha...

Jainsim has a logical approach towards every beleif, custom, ritual practised by us...

Jainism is nature in the purest and truest form. Jainism is as old as nature, which has neither beginning nor any end. The mission of Jainism is the mission of nature, which is to work for the welfare of one and all, to rise from the pitfall of ignorance and inaction to the spiritual climax of infinite bliss and perfect knowledge. i.e. absolute freedom.

Jainism is a religion based on cosmic principles, eternal principles on which this colossal machinery runs without any mistake or even a single momentary halt. The principles of modern science are true and temporary in particular context of space and time only, but the principles of Jainism are true for all time, for all space, for everybody and everything. Jainism throws light on the colossal structure of universe, its shape, size, origin, purpose and mechanism. It deals in perfect details with six reals out of which the universe is made. Everything that happens in the universe is according to the fixed pattern of eternal laws, which are unshakable.

Right knowledge, right faith, and right conduct are the three most essentials for attaining liberation.

In order to acquire these, one must observe the five great vows:

1: Non-violence - Ahimsa
2: Truth - Satya
3: Non-stealing - Achaurya or Asteya
4: Celibacy/Chastity - Brahmacharya
5: Non-attachment/Non-possession -
6: Aparigraha

Vardhaman Mahavira

Jainism, the creed of the Tirthankaras of the Shramana tradition of ancient Indian culture, is a very comprehensive system, acclaimed as one of the oldest living religions of India. all Tirthankaras were born as human beings but they have attained a state of perfection or enlightenment through meditation and self realization. Tirthankaras are also known as Arihants or Jinas.

Tirthankara
One who establishes the four fold order (Monk, Nun, Layman, and Laywoman) of religion.

Arihant
One who destroys his inner enemies like anger, greed, passion, ego, etc.
Jina

One who conquers his inner enemies like anger, greed, passion, ego, etc. The followers of Jina are known as Jains.

Its last exponent was Vardhaman Mahavira (599-527 B.C.), the twenty-fourth Tirthankara or Jina of the Jain religion. According to Jain philosophy. Jainism encompasses in itself a way of living and not just a belief. Compassion and non-violence form the core of this belief. Jainism has been described as an ethical system par excellence, since it lays the greatest emphasis on self-discipline and self-control in order to lead a life of peaceful co-existence, co-operation, co-ordination and co-realisation. just keep in mind that NO PERSONAL ATTACKS would be allowed ... Jains believe in the motto of "Live and Let Live"

Digambar Jain.. a part of Great Jain religion.
This is a common place where persons with similler thinking can talk abt this great culture in friendly manner.

Diff b/w Digamber & swetamber

Digambar Jain monks do not wear clothes because they believe clothes are like other possessions, increase dependency and desire for material things, and desire for anything ultimately leads to sorrow. Svetambar Jain monks, on the other hand, wear white, seamless clothes for practical reasons, and believe there is nothing in Jain scripture that condemns wearing clothes. Sadhvis (nuns) of both sects wear white.

These differing views arise from different interpretations of the same holy books. There are minor differences in each sect's literature.

Digambars believe that women cannot attain moksha in the same birth, while Svetambars believe that women may attain liberation and that Mallinath, a Tirthankar, was a woman.

The difference is because Digambar ascetism requires nudity. As nudity is impractical for women, it follows that without it they cannot attain moksha.[19]

Digambars believe that Mahavir was not married, whereas Shvetambars believe the princely Mahavir
